We’ve got a lot of love for @chungta.cungnhau and its founders (@lindork & @aspoonfordad their volunteers and supporters) for creating a space where the Vietnamese diaspora in Edmonton can share our stories and experiences.

They recently hosted a screening of @newwavedocumentary and a sold-out event, “Where We Came From (and where we go from here),” at @lastmodernevents.

@chungta.cungnhau events are open to all (give them a follow to stay up to date), and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next and shoutout for choosing to support small #yegbusiness ❤️

Growing up in Edmonton, we spent nearly every week

Growing up in Edmonton, we spent nearly every weekend in Chinatown, grocery shopping, eating, visiting family friends, and all these years later, it’s still a place where we go weekly and where we always feel at home.

This morning we dropped off a lunch delivery to @hullblock for the @changechinatown annual Christmas party. Thank you for having us. It was heartwarming to see so many volunteers filling brown bags with treats and care for organizations supporting our inner-city community. We love seeing Chinatown buzzing.

A huge shoutout to the community groups and passionate business owners breathing new life into one of our favourite places in the city @changechinatown @yeg_chinatown.

And a special thank you to @kimfatmarketyeg one of our favourite local suppliers, a family-run business and a Chinatown institution. We rely on them for so much: the pork shoulder we slow-roast for our cold cut, the Edmonton-made chả lụa, the pristine liver (it’s truly beautiful) that becomes our house pâté, the perfectly double-ground pork for our nem nướng and more. They really are the secret behind so many of our flavours.

We’ll always support Chinatown, and lovely to see Mayor @andrewknack enjoying a BMD cold cut bánh mì right in the heart of it all.

We’ll try to share more of our fave Chinatown spots in our stories when we have a minute in between banh mi making but if you don’t see it in our stories sooner then you’d like, DM us, we’ll be happy to share ❤️
